Synopsis:

My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy; a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why; especially since I should have been the one who died...

My rating: ★★★★★

In a world where mythology is real, there is a special school for kids who are descendants of some of the most powerful mythological figures known. That school is Mythos Academy. Here the descendants of gods, goddesses, Romans, Spartans, Amazons, and Valkyrie are trained to fight like experts, for they are destined to fight in what might be the next Chaos War—a war between the Norse god Loki and the Greek goddess Nike.………

Synopsis:

Charlotte Silver's world is like no one else's...

Cemetery cleanup might not sound exciting, but as shocking discoveries and a lurking stranger come to light, Charlotte learns that sometimes, raising the dead can bring unexpected rewards.

My rating: ★★★★★

In this short story, the town Charlotte now lives in is experiencing a storm sooo bad that there is a flood. But the weird thing is that coffins start to float down the street during the flood…pretty creepy, eh? lol. Anyway, Charlotte and her family (and her crush Noah) volunteer to help clean up the mess of coffins all over town. But they soon discover that these are no normal coffins. No, these coffins hide secrets, secrets that could potentially put Charlotte and her friends in danger.

Synopsis:

Thirteen-year-old October Schwartz is new in town; short on friends and the child of a clinically depressed science teacher, she spends her free time in the Sticksville Cemetery and it isn’t long before she befriends the ghosts of five dead teenagers, each from a different era of the past. Using October’s smarts and the ghosts’ abilities to walk through walls and roam around undetected, they form the Dead Kid Detective Agency, a group committed to solving Sticksville’s most mysterious mysteries. So when the high school’s beloved French teacher dies in a suspicious car accident, it provides the agency with its first bona fide case, putting them in the midst of a murder plot thick with car chases, cafeteria fights, and sociopathic math teachers, and sending them on an adventure that might just uncover the truth about a bomb that exploded 40 years ago.

My rating: ★★★★★

October just moved to a new town with her clinically depressed father where she will be starting a new life at a new school. To make things worse, she’s only 13 and she’ll be entering high school already (yeah, she’s that smart! She skipped a whole grade at her old school). Because she has an affinity for the color black and she likes to read in the cemetery, she’s considered a “freak.” High school kids can be such jerks! But I like October :) She’s a pretty cool kid. Anyway, as she’s starting to settle in, there is a murder that takes place…and it is someone October was starting to know and actually like (I don’t want to give too much away ;))Even though it seemed like a very tragic accident, October suspects that there was more to it. And thus the Dead Kid Detective Agency was born! October and the ghosts of 5 dead kids around her age try to figure out who and why they committed the murder.

Synopsis:

Danny Lopez is new in town. He made a mistake back home in Las Vegas, and now he has landed at an experimental school in Colorado for “tough cases.” At the Cobalt Charter School, everything is scripted—what the teachers say, what the students reply—and no other speaking is allowed. This supercontrolled environment gives kids a second chance to make something of themselves. But with few freedoms, the students become sitting ducks for a killer determined to “clean up” Colorado Springs.

My rating: ★★★☆☆

Danny Lopez just moved from Las Vegas to a small town in Colorado, and his new school is just…crazy (in my opinion)! First of all, there is this silence policy that does not allow the students or the teachers talk…at all! Not even during lunch…or recess O.O The only time you can actually talk during school is when the teacher or the students are reading from the script (no this isn’t some theater/drama school). They have this daily script where the lectures are pre-planned. So everything you need to say has to come from that script. It I were in that school, I would go crazy! lol. Then I would demand to be put in a normal public school :) Oh, and did I mention the gloves? Yeah, they have to wear white gloves along with their school uniform. Apparently it promotes hygiene?? Weird, I know. Anyway, Danny makes friends pretty quickly and is involved in some sort of secret club or society thing at school.

Synopsis:

On the night of Skye's seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites, like fire and ice, Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye's life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.

In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can't help falling for, and Devin, who she can't stay away from, the consequences of Skye's choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

My rating: ★★★★★

The night of Skye’s 17th birthday, she meets Asher and Devin. Then she finds out that they have both transferred to her school. There is something strange about these guys...they’re both very mysterious. Claiming to be cousins, Asher and Devin are as opposite as it gets: Asher is all dark, charming, and a total flirt; while Devin is, with his blond hair and intense blue eyes, shy and quiet.

Synopsis:

It was a beautiful, warm summer day, the day Danny died.

Suddenly Wren was alone and shattered. In a heartbroken fury, armed with dark incantations and a secret power, Wren decides that what she wants—what she must do—is to bring Danny back.

But the Danny who returns is just a shell of the boy Wren fell in love with. His touch is icy; his skin, smooth and stiff as marble; his chest, cruelly silent when Wren rests her head against it.

Wren must keep Danny a secret, hiding him away, visiting him at night, while her life slowly unravels around her. Then Gabriel DeMarnes transfers to her school, and Wren realizes that somehow, inexplicably, he can sense the powers that lie within her—and that he knows what she has done. And now Gabriel wants to help make things right.

But Wren alone has to undo what she has wrought—even if it means breaking her heart all over again.

My rating: ★★★★★

Danny was Wren’s whole life. She loved him and he loved her. When she was with him, everything was perfect.

And then Danny died.
